Marion Buckley, Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund Sr. Technical Claim Specialist, has nine years’ experience managing medical malpractice claims. She brings a strong legal background to Wausau MedMal Management, with more than 25 years as an attorney.
Experience
Marion began her legal career following her work as a consultant with Urban Appraisal, Inc., a nationwide real estate consulting firm based in Chicago. From 2004 through 2009, she was an attorney for the Office of the State Appellate Defender in Chicago, representing indigent people on appeal in criminal cases. Her work included writing briefs and arguing before the Illinois Appellate Court as well as the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2009, she moved to Wisconsin, and subsequently joined the State of Wisconsin Public Defender, where she worked at the trial level as an Assistant Public Defender in Burnett, Washburn and Sawyer counties prior to moving to Wausau and focusing on Marathon County. Marion obtained her Juris Doctor degree from DePaul College of Law, Chicago; she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
Marion is a Member of the Wisconsin Bar (admitted June 2009); Illinois Bar (admitted May 1995); and Northern District of Illinois and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals federal bars (admitted 1996).
