Patricia Sommer is a Technical Claim Specialist for the Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund. She brings a strong legal background with more than 20 years as an attorney.

Experience

Patty began her professional career as a high school math teacher.  After seven years of teaching, she earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude.  Following graduation, she clerked for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals for two years, assisting with drafting judicial opinions and conducting research on legal issues.  She entered private practice in Madison and held positions of increasing responsibility, including Claim Attorney at General Casualty and QBE.  In 2012, Patty returned to the Court of Appeals where she clerked for the chief judge for four years.  In 2015, Patricia started her own law practice, with a focus on appellate criminal defense.
